Michael's Hospital study finds that cholesterol-reducing diet plan also lowers blood pressureElizabeth R. Bertone-Johnson, Sc.D., of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and co-workers compared the diets and supplement usage of 1,057 women aged 27 to 44 years who reported developing PMS over the course of 10 years to 1 1,968 females who reported no diagnosis of PMS or no or minimal premenstrual symptoms in the same time period. The ladies, who participated in the Nurses Wellness Research , all reported no PMS in 1991, at the start of the scholarly study period. Their intake of calcium and supplement D from diet and/or products was calculated from food frequency and regular NHS questionnaires administered in 1991, 1995 and 1999.For ASU, which includes played a very active function in attracting this additional funding, much of these research money have gone for projects that meet challenges presently confronting society. Projects funded include work to unlock the secrets of photosynthesis for fresh resources of energy; research into a computational understanding of the skills required in medical training; development of a new way for screening and diagnosing tuberculosis in children; a scholarly study on child advancement and immigrant adaptation; and advancement of a new kind of robotic hand.
